TXM Recruit are working in partnership with one of the UK largest Train companies to support with recruitment of SHEC Advisor on two years FTC
 
Role Overview:
Provide SHEC support to the management teams for allocated Engineering site(s) and support functions.
Coach and support Production Managers, Supervisors, and frontline employees to help develop health and safety knowledge, awareness, and risk perception.
Promote SHEC best practice within the Engineering Function.
 
Role Responsibilities:
  • Not endanger the Health & Safety of yourself or others by your actions or omissions
  • Comply with SHE Management System Procedures and legal requirements.
  • Notify your line manager of any unsafe plant, equipment, building structure or practice.
  • Report any spills or environmental incidents to your line manager.
  • Report any accidents or incidents to your line manager.
  • Comply with the client’s alcohol and drugs policy.
  • Communicate effectively in the interests of safety, health, and the environment.
  • Carry out emergency procedures when required, in line with local instructions.
  • Cooperate fully with any internal or external SHE auditors.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment as supplied when required.
  • Protect the natural environment when carrying out any work activities.
  • Use energy and other resources in an efficient manner including the correct disposal of waste.
  • Be in possession of all necessary SHE documentation relevant to the task being carried out.
  • Co-operate with your manager to reduce risk and look for opportunities for improve SHE performance.
  • Not start work unless it is safe to do so.
  • Stop work activities should they become unsafe and/or are unnecessarily polluting the environment.
  • Have an awareness of the client’s Safeguarding and Prevent polices.
  • You must not interfere with or misuse anything provided for health and safety or environmental protection.
Role Requirements:
 
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. Membership of a professional safety institution such as IOSH.
  • An accredited internal auditor course Managerial qualifications are desirable but must have at least two years’ experience within a role of influence. Previous experience in a safety related role is desirable.
  • Have extensive knowledge of occupational health and safety and environmental issues, legislation, standards, and best practice.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of safety management systems, such as HS(G) 65 Successful Health and Safety Management and BS OHSAS 18001:2007 is also beneficial.
  • Must have experience in Heavy Engineering or Maintenance
