TXM Recruit have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join a key transportation client, working across the midlands

As a Project Engineer, you will be on a salary of £45000 a year and will receive a company van with all specialist tools.

This exciting role is to oversee the installation of mobile systems such as on-board CCTV, Passenger-counting, on board media, telematics, & communications routers, onto a fleet of Rail Carriages.

Project Engineer Duties:
  • Commissioning of new systems for handover to customer including link to our client’s portal. This is a mixture of laptop works and hands on works to rectify snags.
  • Installation of systems to vehicles inclusive of final set up / commissioning.
  • Assisting the Project Engineers on new installations or projects to confirm the best practice for the project delivery.
  • Reporting progress and key information daily and accurately, inclusive of worksheets and e-mail updates.
  • Good communicating with office and customers on site staff to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Responsibility for stock issued and the return of un-used stock following the company’s processes.
  • Always maintaining a safe and clean working area on customers sites.
  • Responsibility for company vehicle and presentation on site to best represent our client.

Project Engineer Requirements:
  • Track record of previous works on motor vehicles (Car/Bus/Truck/Rail) electrical systems.
  • Qualifications relevant to Electrical/Auto electrical/ EV awareness would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential, both for with colleagues and customer facing.
  • Good at working under own initiative or with others.
  • Full UK driving licence.
