Josie Malone TXM News
Raising money for the Railway Children’s charity, a group of TXM employees will be taking on the National Three Peaks challenge THIS June, with the aim to complete all three peaks within 24 hours!
With a total walking distance of 37 kilometres over a total ascent of 3,062 metres, Warren Barry, Kyle Cotterill, Guy Redfern, and Andy Slater are planning to complete the challenge with no guide, taking on the driving in-between all three mountains, a total of driving 462 miles… all within 24 hours!
The team’s plan of action!
The challenge will begin at 6am in Scotland taking on Ben Nevis with the aim to complete within five hours, followed by a drive to England’s Scafell Pike with the aim to start climbing at 5pm and complete within four hours. The three peaks challenge will then end in Wales, as the team plan to start climbing Snowdon at 2am with the aim to finish by 6am!
All for a great cause…the Railway Children charity
Did you know a child runs away from home every five minutes in the UK? The Railway Children charity helps thousands of vulnerable children who pass through the UK railway stations every single day, protecting children from the dangers of living on the streets.
Warren, Kyle, Guy, and Andy will be raising money for this incredible charity. Having all worked within the Rail community for some time now, the team wish to give back and raise money for a charity that makes a huge difference during what has been and continues to be tough time for many.
