TXM Recruit Community Support
Rugby union side Kettering Under 15s are sponsored by TXM Recruit and the Blues had an unforgettable season where they went The Xtra Mile in four competitions.
The 2016/2017 campaign came to a close last month where the U15s won their division after an emphatic season scoring over 1000 points and conceding just 326 points; the best stats in the league.
They were supported and sponsored by TXM Recruit throughout 2015/16 season and once again in 16/17.
“TXM are a much valued sponsor of Kettering U15s. Not only do they provide all 32 of our players with the latest club match and training tops, but they have also given us the opportunity to meet with their brand ambassador and inspirational rugby legend Jason Robinson,” described Kettering U15s Manager Paul Church.
“A number of players have also benefited from seeing Aviva Premiership rugby up close through TXM's association with Northampton Saints. In addition, TXM's recruitment business has also provided both support and employment opportunities to Kettering rugby players leaving school after their A-levels.”
As well as winning the league, the youngsters also claimed the trophy in the Kettering 7s tournament and the Syston 7s tournament, plus finished a superb second out of 20 teams in the highly competitive Basingstoke UR7s tournament, where teams travelled from across the United Kingdom to compete.
The talent within the squad has shone through, as four players have been selected for the Aviva Premiership side Northampton Saints’ Elite Player Development Programme, along with a further ten Kettering U15s players for Saints’ Developing Player Programme, meaning the Blues have the largest representation from one club in the programme in the East Midlands.
The good news continues for players of the championship winning side as five members of the team, which played in the Basingstoke UR7s tournament, have been selected for the UR7s National Academy Programme for the 2017/2018 season.
“The success of the U15s’ season can be clearly seen in the now bulging trophy cabinet, but also in training and off the pitch,” explained Coach Geoff Cole.
“There is an incredible team spirit and bond between all the boys, the encouragement and support they show for each other, whatever level they are playing at, is a joy to watch. It's this team spirit and willingness to go The Xtra Mile for each other that has led to the success on the pitch.
