Are you a Welder and Fabricator looking for a new opportunity?
TXM are recruiting for an experienced welder fabricator to work on a large rail project.

Salary: (Inside IR35) Pay: £25.15 through umbrella or PAYE with holiday included in rate £21.44

Location: Stoke
Shifts: Earlies 0600-1400 Mon-Thurs 0600-1200 Fri and Noon’s 1400-2230 Mon-Thurs 1100-1700 Fri

Must have: 3 years welding on rail vehicles.

TXM are looking for Welder Fabricators who can think on their feet to join an expanding heavy maintenance rail depot in Stoke. Main duties will be working on the re-power project which consists of welding locomotives and modifying/upgrading them to modern standards.

Key Skills:

Proven experience working from and reading engineering drawings.

Ability to work on own or with a team.

Ability to extract information from engineering drawings to layout and fabricate essential components of the locomotive using aids such as laser lines and other calibrated tools, working within tight tolerances specified to each job.

Experience in working with sheet metal and heavy plate.

Ability to use a range of manual fabrication equipment including, pan folder, track cutting torch, mag drills, pillar drills, guillotines, Mig/Mag welding sets, Oxy Fuel Cutting equipment.

Ability to work on own initiative to come up with viable solutions for any issues that arise during fabrication activities including improvement to makes tasks safer, quicker and more efficient.

Experience in positional welding including vertical and overhead using Mig/Mag Process.

Ability to Tig weld would be advantageous but not essential.

Reliability and good time keeping.

Qualifications:

Level 2 in Fabrication and Welding or Apprentice trained

English and Math’s at GCSE or equivalent

Abrasive Wheels Training (Beneficial not Essential)
