Travelling Technician with ref. BH-84497

TXM Recruit has an exciting opportunity to work with a luxury train company seeking a Travelling Technician based out of London.

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical and Electrical Technician who is comfortable with regular travel and staying away from home several nights a month.

This role operates on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern and involves working across two main sites. In addition to depot-based work, once or twice a month, you’ll be travelling across the UK to stunning locations like the Lake District, Wales, and Cornwall—on board the train—carrying out reactive maintenance on kitchen equipment, customer cabins, and other onboard facilities.

When based at the depot, your responsibilities will include:

Fault finding and testing
Reading and interpreting schematics
Performing system upgrades

While travelling, you’ll be responsible for:

Servicing the train between outward and return journeys
Conducting maintenance examinations
Servicing all onboard catering equipment
Preparing the train, including fuelling and performance monitoring

Requirements: To be considered, you should be a qualified and time-served technician from a Rolling Stock, Armed Forces, or Aerospace background. You’ll need to work safely, efficiently, and communicate in a friendly, professional manner with customers and colleagues.
