Team Leader - Heavy Maintenance
Location: Bristol
Working Hours: 40 hrs per week, Monday – Friday, 07.00 – 15.30 hrs
Salary: £40,936.82
Contract Type: Permanent
Responsible to: Project Engineer
Job Role: As a Team Leader in Heavy Maintenance, you will be responsible for managing all depot operations, activities, and personnel at the relevant Depot. Your key duties include the implementation and maintenance of safety systems, production efficiency, and quality output. Operating rail vehicles within depot limits, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, and collaborating with Project Engineers for efficient work programs are crucial aspects of this role. Additionally, you'll play a key role in mentoring and coaching team members, implementing customer requirements, and contributing to continuous improvement innovations.


Person Specification:

Qualification and Requirements:
  • BTEC certificate in Engineering
  • City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering - Rail Traction & Rolling Stock preferred
  • Good standard of education
  • Driver operator/shunter assessment in the relevant class of vehicle
  • People Management training

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Full understanding of rail vehicle maintenance
  • Management of rail vehicle depot operations
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Knowledge of production efficiency techniques
