Location: Oxford
Salary: £22.15 per hour (Monday-Friday), £25.47 per hour (weekends)
Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week on a rotating shift basis (05:00-15:30 and 13:30-00:00)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, inspect, maintain, and repair company vehicles.
- Work independently using specialist skills to provide timely solutions.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with transport regulations.
- Conduct road tests (if license permits).
- Maintain and safely handle all tools, materials, and specialist equipment.
- Stay updated with technical developments through training and continuous professional development.
- Follow all Health & Safety policies and risk assessments.
- Act as a professional ambassador for Oxford Bus Company and public transport.
- Essential:
- City & Guilds Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering and vehicle maintenance procedures (PCV or HGV).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
- Full manual driving license and own hand tools.
- Desirable:
- IOSH qualification or similar Health & Safety training.
- Understanding of DVSA & Department of Transport standards.
- Experience with automotive electrics and fault diagnostics.
- Ability to gain a PCV license.
