A design and developer of aircrafts at a facility in Bedfordshire is looking for an experienced Senior Avionics Systems Design Engineer.

You will join the electrical design team and will take responsibility and apply system engineering practice to the development of the various bespoke electrical systems for a new air vehicle, including the power generation and distribution system, and various electrical systems. The successful Senior Design Engineer will develop the interface control documents, specifications and system schematics and provide technical management with suppliers to ensure they deliver the products to the system requirements. You will have the opportunity to become one of the company's EASA Compliance Verification Engineers and, as a Flight Test Engineer, may carry out ground and flight-testing activities, depending upon experience.

The successful Systems Design Engineer will have an Aerospace, Aeronautical or general engineering degree or equivalent experience. You will have 5+ years' experience in the aerospace industry working on system architecture and managing suppliers, or a product development background within the aerospace environment. A good working knowledge and experience of application of electrical engineering design methods is also key.

You will be a Systems Design Engineer with experience of working across a broad area of design from concept through to detail design and then onto limited test / production support you will have requirements capture experience. An awareness of CAA/EASA/FAA certification procedures is advantageous. You will have the ability to prepare technical documentation, including specifications and reports and will liaise with other technical systems design groups within the company.
