Job Title-Quality Engineer
Salary-£40000-£45000
Shift- Mon-Thu 8-17:00 Fri-8-13:00
Location-Milton Keynes


General Description:

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing the operational Quality management strategy, reporting to the Head of Quality. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, and corporate requirements while driving continuous improvement in Quality processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct Quality activities and plans, making sound judgments in work methods and interpreting goals.
  • Manage the Warranty process, from initial complaint through to timely resolution and implementation of lessons learned.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor business measures and KPIs aligned with business needs.
  • Establish effective communication structures within the business and with other department heads.
  • Provide support and advice on Quality-related issues to all functions.
  • Promote positive cultural change towards Quality among employees, customers, and third parties.
  • Independently support the Corrective Action System, supplier quality monitoring, internal auditing, and non-conforming product assessments.
  • Provide regular reports on Quality activities to the leadership team.
  • Represent the company in meetings/audits.
  • Ensure safe and efficient execution of functional responsibilities.
  • Take responsibility to resolve quality matters or stop activities if critical requirements aren’t met.
  • Own the Calibration process and coordinate calibration activities for special tooling.
  • Review Production activities through in-process checks and inspections to ensure compliance.
  • Provide estimating assistance for the commercial team on new bids.
Education Requirements / Skills:
  • FDEng/HNC/HND in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • ISO 9001 Lead auditor course (desired).
  • Practical Engineering, heavy industry, or production background (desired).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and quality-related software reporting systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with lean/kaizen experience.
  • Ability to influence peer and management groups.

Previous experience within; Mining or Nuclear or Rail/Rolling Stock or Automotive or Plant or Heavy Engineering enviroments are essential.
