Position: Project Manager, Operations

Location: Rushden (Commutable from Bedford, Northampton, Wellingborough, Kettering and surrounding areas)

Job type: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: Circa £50k pa + company car or allowance + bonus

Benefits: Pension, 25 days holiday

TXM are currently partnering with a UK leader in anaerobic digestion (AD) and one of the largest independent AD operators in the UK. Having recently expanded its food waste recycling network through acquisition, it has a combined network of thirteen AD plants and six composting sites located across England, Scotland and Wales that provide cost-effective, low carbon, food and organic waste management solutions. Working with supermarkets, the hospitality industry, food manufacturers and local authorities across the UK, the AD sites recycle over half a million tonnes of food waste each year. 

About the role: 

Reporting to the Central Operations Senior Engineer, the role will project manage and oversee the Control of Change system and Operations Improvement Project activities across all operating sites, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, with zero defects and effectively communicated to the relevant people. This will include managing and overseeing multiple projects, managing some directly and others by delegation. The position will lead and/or assist in the preparation of Capital Expenditure proposals and will also, as appropriate, manage CDM responsibilities. The role will control and maintain engineering drawings, including ELDs, DSEAR, P&IDs, general layout, etc, for all operating sites and ensure document control is maintained as part of the integrated management system.

 

The role will assist the Operations Director, Compliance Director and Safety Manager in driving continuous improvements in safety culture, standards & safe systems of work across all operations by ensuring no adverse safety, health, environment and quality issues arise from Project activities. You will ensure all Project activities provide and adhere to good quality Risk Assessments and Method Statements. 


About you: 

The successful candidate will be qualified & competent in Project Management, ideally having gained relevant experience of projects within the process or manufacturing industry or other related sector. You will set high standards for safety and have experience of OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 & 14001 management systems procedures and have previous experience of managing a budget and significant experience of controlling costs.

You will be competent operating AutoCAD and have the ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to technical details. You should also be competent at report writing and be able to provide feedback verbally and in writing. You will have previous experience of managing Control of Change systems.

You must be prepared to travel regularly to operational sites and therefore hold a Full Driving Licence. 

NEBOSH safety qualifications (General Certificate) would be desirable.
