Are you looking to get into the rail industry then this job might be the job for you? Our client is currently expanding its wagon maintenance team based at its depot based in Hope Valley and are recruiting for a Production Assistant to join the team.

As a Production Assistant you will be working 0600-1430 Monday to Thursday, 0600-1300 Friday on a salary of £25300.

The Production Assistant must be able to demonstrate a commitment to safety and an understanding of safe working practices, compliance to company standards and safe working procedures are followed. The applicant will be a motivated self-starter and a fully versatile team member. Progression opportunities to become a wagon fitter exist for the right candidate.

Responsibilities of a Production Assistant whilst working in the role will include:
  • Adhere to health & safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety standards.
  • Assist the Depot Supervisor in all facility improvements.
  • Provide stores assistant duties to the Depot Team Leader.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • General site maintenance and cleaning duties
  • Forklift truck duties.
  • Road Delivery & Collections to suppliers

Requirements for a Production Assistant
  • Commitment to safe working practices
  • A general maintenance backgrounds.
  • Experience with basic hand tools!
  • Knowledge of COSHH including all cleaning products will be beneficial.
  • Vehicle Driving Licence
