Mechanical Design Engineer.
- Pay: £700 per day - Working 7.5hrs per day, Monday to Friday (The role is Inside IR35 so pay is via umbrella company or PAYE)
- Office Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire
- Contract: Working on a 6 month contract basis.
Key responsibilities summary:
An experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a proactive problem-solving approach is required to support the delivery of world-class level condition monitoring in the Rail Industry. Typical activities will centre on the design and assessment of the mechanical components for the installation of sensors on rail customer vehicles. Work will be conducted ensuring all the performance requirements of the system and all safety standards are met. The role will require working with the engineering control processes defined by both internal and client engineering teams. Activities will support established customers, trials and bids as required.
Detailed responsibilities:
• Design the mechanical components for the installation of sensors to be fitted to rail customer vehicles.
• Conduct FEA analysis, presenting results in high-quality reports.
• Generation of detailed, high-quality component drawings.
• Meet the performance requirements of the system and all safety standards and working with internal and client engineering teams.
• Work to the established processes defined by the design department in the UK.
• Support customers, trial and bids, etc.
• Take customer requirements into account and demonstrate creativity and innovation.
• Comply with all statutory, industry, corporate, customer and local QHS&E requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships within the business and with customers, interfacing with professional engineering staff and instilling confidence.
• Understanding and implementation of all standards, methods, tools and applications relevant to your own specialism.
• Analyse, diagnose, design, plan, execute and evaluate work to time, cost and quality targets.
• Communicating effectively, formally and informally, with colleagues and customers.
