Are you a technician looking for your next career move then this may be the perfect opportunity for you? Our client is currently expanding their Depot on the South Coast and are recruiting for an Engineering technician to join their Locomotive Maintenance department in Southampton.

Locomotive Technician Job Details:
  • 35 core hours per week (including lunch and breaks)
  • Annual salary £35,037.00 with over time earning up to £50000
  • All Night shifts (1800 – 0600) receive 25% enhancement.
  • Time and a half Sunday
  • 11 person rotating shift roster
  • First 3x12hour shifts in a week cover your core hours plus 1 hrs overtime
  • Remaining shifts in the week are paid as overtime

Responsibilities of a Locomotive technician whilst working in the role will include:
  • Adhere to health & safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards.
  • Ensure company engineering standards and procedures are applied and followed.
  • Maintain, service, fault find and repair locomotives in accordance with approved maintenance plans.
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive recording of maintenance and defect/repair information are kept up to date in accordance with legislative requirements and company instructions.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe environment

Requirements for an Locomotive technician
  • Commitment to safe working practices
  • Apprentice trained or time served
  • Experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance activities
  • Knowledge of rolling stock would be advantageous
  • Must hold a relevant Engineering qualification at Lv3
