My client is looking for a motivated and proactive Junior Category Buyer to support the purchasing function and help drive a resilient and reliable supply chain. The right candidate will be organised, adaptable, and confident building strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage supplier relationships with a professional and consistent approach.
- Communicate supply issues affecting category spend with relevant departments and escalate where required.
- Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules.
- Create and maintain material master data and supplier drawing workflows.
- Handle general procurement administration and departmental housekeeping.
- Manage CAPEX for company assets.
- Act as a key point of contact for resolving pricing, quality, delivery, and invoice issues.
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to the evaluation of supplier performance (quality, cost, delivery).
- Maintain and create management information systems (MIS).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- High attention to detail with strong organisational abilities.
- Excellent time management and task prioritisation skills.
- Adaptable to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, methodical, and resilient under pressure.
- Strong team player.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
