TXM Recruit are exited to be working with an established Engineering company in Crewe to support with the hire of a hardware Test & Verification Engineer.

Role Overview:
Reporting to the Assurance Lead, you will work as part of the Product Design and Development team to manage the testing and verification of  Safety critical Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical products.  In this role, you will be required to plan, conduct, and report on testing completed on products under development as well as provide advice and feedback to relevant stakeholders. You will also support current products with technical design changes and modifications as well as the development and test of new and innovative products for manufacture using new and emerging technologies to support the businesses growth plans.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Write first and third party formal test, verification, and validation plans. 
  • Conduct Type Testing (reliability, capacities, compliance, integration, and performance) of products. 
  • Perform high precision calibration and advanced adjustments using testing instruments.
  • Produce pre-production test sample assembly according to engineering drawings.
  • Support third party testing like EMC, Environmental, Fire Performance, Shock, Vibration, IP. 
  • Support or conduct commissioning and system integration testing. 
  • Compiling reports on findings and testing data gathered.
  • Produce formal test, verification and validation reports for Independent assessment or compliance certification.
  • Examining, fault finding, investigating, root cause analysis for specific aspects and components of products under investigation/failure.
  • Providing recommendations and advice to relevant stakeholders.
  • Deciphering engineering drawings or schematics.
  • Design and build specific test setups/equipment. 

Role Requirements:
  • Knowledge of assurance processes, codes of practice, standards, and regulations within a product safety environment
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) Electronics Engineering or equivalent STEM based subject)
  • Knowledge of building and testing safety critical products
  • Experienced in formal verification to Rail standards (BS EN 50129, BS EN 50126)
  • Proficiency in assessing requirements quality and generating appropriate test procedures and protocols.
  • Report writing and document and data analysis skills.
  • Strong design review and document checking abilities.
  • Comfortable with industry-specific test equipment and software.
  • Experience in product development lifecycle – from concept to introduction into manufacturing (ideally in safety critical industry)
  • Experience in the back end of the product development lifecycle V model
  • Extensive IT Skills for MS Office and Google Suite
