A leading designer & manufacturer of BESPOKE measurement control equipment for the Oil & Gas, Medical and Aerospace industries, looking for an Operations General Manager for their Yorkshire based facility. As a profitable business (within a global group of industry leading manufacturers) employing circa 100 staff, the General Manager is required to help the business reach its full potential. There is a strong senior management team in place that with the right, strong leadership will help take the company to the next level.
You will have full accountability for the business unit P&L and will have responsibility for delivering sustained growth, operational improvements and driving innovations. Customer engagement is a key part of this role and a proven track record in this area is essential.
You will have effective leadership qualities and interpersonal skills, understanding your team with a proven ability to maximise motivation and performance. You must be committed to excellence and combine strategic thinking with drive to achieve business results. You must have experience of driving behavioural and cultural change.
Ideally you will have experience of working within an Industrial measuring, sensors, scales, testing equipment or motors manufacturing environment but skills and operational experience is more important. You will however be from a manufacturing / engineering background and used to dealing with complex products and customers. You must also work with bespoke rather than mass produced, generalist products.
