Pay Rate- £18-£20 an hour DOE
Location- Burton On Trent
Job Purpose:The Gear Grinder is responsible for grinding gear teeth to specification, ensuring that all tasks meet quality standards and are completed within allocated time frames.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate machines to grind gear teeth according to technical drawings.
- Use a wide range of measuring equipment to check components and ensure specifications are met.
- Write and interpret instructions and procedures for accurate assembly.
- Perform regular inspections of equipment, materials, and products.
- Control machines and processes during the gear grinding operation.
- Report any issues, near misses, or potential improvements to the line manager.
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Mentor and train apprentices or junior staff as required.
- Support 5S activities and ensure proper disposal of waste.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the rail or automotive industry.
- Experience with Reishauer, Niles, and Pfauter gear grinding machines is advantageous.
