Principal responsibilities of a Field Service Engineer will be attending faults and failures, carrying out repairs, performing inspections and technical rider duties to the satisfaction of our customers on a variety of rail vehicles across the national rail network, potentially anywhere from Penzance in Cornwall to Wick in Scotland. You will receive per diem payments when working away, as necessary.
You will receive an extensive training programme within the first 9 months to ensure you are successful in the role. This will be based at our Derby site working 5 days / 40 hours per week and accommodation will be provided during this period. This role is a basic 40 hour working week which may require some bank holiday and weekend working.
Upon completion of the training and satisfactory competency assessments, you will primarily be field based, working from your home location and with hotel accommodation provided if necessary due to service requirements. A company vehicle will be provided. Occasional working at our Derby site will be required.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will start on a salary of £41620 whilst training and then once training is completed the salary would increase to £44700.
The Key Requirements for Field Service Engineer:
- GCSE Maths and English Level 4 or above
- A Full UK Driving License
- Able to pass a Personal Track Safety Medical.
- Level 3 Apprenticeship in Rolling Stock Maintenance or an equivalent Electrical/Mechanical discipline.
- Experience in Maintenance and Repair of Traction and Rolling Stock (preferred)
