Environmental Manager - Rolling Stock Manufacture
Contract: 12 months
Rate: £600 per day Umbrella
Location: Remote/home based with UK travel
 
My client is a global organisation with an impressive reputation in the rail and rolling stock sectors.  They are currently recruiting for an Environmental Manager to lead on all Environmental issues and deliverables on a major rolling stock design and manufacture project.  The successful candidate will need strong stakeholder management and communictaion skills as this role will involve managing a number of different sites and teams towards a common goal.
 
Main Responsibilities:
 
As an Environmental Manager, you will play a pivotal role in providing subject matter leadership at all stages of the design and manufacture of a brand new fleet of trains.
Responsible for governing the delivery of major work packages to meet and exceed the client’s requirement in regard to Environmental Sustainability.
Working in a dynamic matrix organisation you will be part of the UK HSE team.
You will work closely with stakeholders and functional teams, to manage all aspects of project environmental deliverables.
 
You will:
 
Be a leading example of the HRE missions, visions and values
Engage and communicate efficiently with internal customers, partners, suppliers and stakeholders as necessary in executing work packages.
Support with the development and management of KPIs for effective Environmental reporting and governance
Assurance of the implementation and required process and deployment of procedures
 
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
 
Good knowledge and practical experience of English statutory environmental requirements, including requirements relating to:
 
water resources;
waste and materials;
climate change;
sustainability requirements; and
environmental permitting at manufacturing sites;
Demonstrable experience in materials, resource efficiency, energy and carbon management.
 
Have experience in one or more of the following sectors:
 
•            Manufacturing
•            Transport
 
Qualifications:
 
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a related subject, with Chartered Environmentalist status and membership of a relevant professional institute (such as IEMA or an equivalent institute).
