Overview
Design, development and support of electronic/electrical components, units, systems as required by the team.
Primary Responsibilities
Design and development of electronic/electrical systems such as sensor interfaces, embedded systems, data acquisition solutions, power supplies/drives, etc.
Tasks to include:
- Requirements capture, specification generation, detailed analogue and digital circuit design, hardware/firmware prototyping, schematic capture, pcb layout, support of component procurement, manufacturing support, unit bring up support, test/calibration support, firmware development/integration, environmental testing, documentation, target application test support.
- Support of development of HIL tester and driver simulator. Harness design and production support.
Sensor selection and development. General electrical/electronic dept support. General production support. - Support for data analysis and PC tool development.
- Development of design processes, quality standards, methodologies, etc.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
A good degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
Previous experience of analogue and digital circuit design, prototyping and development.
Experience in the use of design tools for schematic capture and PCB layout.
Experience in the development of real-time microcontroller systems and software,
Experience in the prototyping and development of electronic systems using the appropriate test equipment and tools e.g. oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analysers, etc.
Experience in the sign off of electronic systems for production and use in the target application including the completion of appropriate environmental and validation testing.
Knowledge of automotive/motorsport sensors/actuators and their interface requirements.
Experience of liaising with external component providers/manufacturers dealing with scheduling and issue tracking/resolution.
Experience of providing on-site support for developed systems.
Have strong problem solving skills.
