£31,000-£36,964 + up to 7% pension, life assurance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

The company

With more than 3000 employees nationwide, our client is a global manufacturer of parts for the automotive industry. Due to increased workload, they are looking for an experienced Cost Engineer to join their team in the Sunderland area.

You will be used to working to tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment and have experience communicating across the business to gather information to compile into complex cost models. As part of the role you will perform profitability analysis to support customer quotation activities and you will monitor product profitability through the project development phase through to the end of product life.

You will have proven ability of cost model creation as well as examples of where you have created, maintained and reported on new product cost and profit. You will perform profitability analysis of current products and you will report regularly on the status as well as actively supporting cost reduction activities.

The successful Cost Engineer will Ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent and will have product costing experience. We are looking for broad awareness of manufacturing processes and associated cost drivers coupled with the highest level of numeracy with strong business awareness. You must be an excellent communicator and be IT literate with expert knowledge of Microsoft office, especially Excel.
