Our client is looking for someone from any engineering/manufacturing background who is looking for a long-term contract position based in Doncaster.
This role will require you to be proactive in your approach and use your initiative to make informed decisions. You will also be required to meet with supplier to carry out audits/reviews to ensure quality is maintained or improved as well as discussing current contract arrangements.
Other responsibilities include:
- You will work as part of the Supply Chain Team within the organisation to provide a service for the sourcing of goods or services in support of internal stakeholder, Business Unit requirements and our clients objectives
- You will liaise with Engineering and Production Engineering colleagues to analyze engineering BoMs and implement these into robust supply chain solutions
- Understand systems and processes in detail, wider than just the departmental (Supply Chain) functional processes (e.g., Safety, Quality, Commercial, Projects, Engineering)
- Have the ability to step outside your own functional commodity, helping the team by covering multiple commodity areas with knowledge and support.
- You will define, negotiate, and implement strategies at part / commodity or service level that allow appropriate commercial and contractual terms to be contained in formal agreements.
- You can be responsible for New Product Introduction (NPI) and FAI clearance / conformity in line with any strategy development or Wabtec UK Limited program.
What is needed from you:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Buyer
- Experience in a Manufacturing/Engineering industry (This can be Automotive, Rail, Aerospace, plant Etc)
- Good level of IT skills and understanding
- Strong negotiation skills
- Sel motivated and Internally driven
