This long term contract working as an Engine Test Technician is your opportunity to provide your expertise and support to a world leading Formula 1 business in Northamptonshire. Using your dyno knowledge and engine background, you will be highly visible in the dynamic engineering team, and the Engine Test Technician that fills this position is absolutely key to the future success of this exciting organisation.
Operating a selection of both Low and High Specification Test Rigs / Dynamometers, unsupervised, in line with established best practices, loading and removing various types of components and configuring Test Cells you will conduct both basic and complex development testing.
You will service cells, following a TPM (Total Prevention Maintenance) check sheet, following procedures to change filters, oil, coolant, components and supporting facility service activities as required, support the construction of rigs/frames/sub-assemblies for test work to appropriate procedures including construction of frames, assembling Rexroth-type frames, cutting and assembling framework using the appropriate hand tools and connection of pipework.
Using your sound understanding of mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles and your experience working in a powertrain testing environment operating test rigs and dynos you will drive forward the testing programme in this high pressured environment. With your knowledge of internal combustion engines and hybrid systems, ability to configure and run test control systems and experience of constructing rigs, frames and sub-assemblies you will be respected and rewarded in this high profile organisation. Any PUMA software knowledge is an added benefit.
