Salary:             £35 - £40,000 per annum

Supplier Quality Engineer Summary

An opportunity has arisen to join the team of this world-renowned manufacturing business as a Supplier Quality Engineer. You will be responsible for communicating their high-quality standards and requirements to new and existing suppliers.

Supplier Quality Engineer Responsibilities

• Production supplier approval for product launch
• Establishing and communicating Pre-production and production supplier requirements
• Generating goods receiving inspection documents for pre and production phases
• Perform Supplier Quality Assurance activities within the supply chain including: APQP, PPAP, Supplier assessment audits and surveillance
• Working closely with purchasing, manufacturing and design engineers to achieve parts that are cost effective, fit for purpose and to a given required quality standard
• Proactive & reactive supplier improvement activities, including problem resolution of parts quality issues using 8D and other automotive industry tools
• Ensuring good control of configuration management with suppliers
• Managing customer quality requirements
• Monitoring and reporting supplier status against plans for NPI & Production projects

Supplier Quality Engineer Requirements

• Experience managing teams, target goal setting & tracking to plan
• Knowledge of ISO/AS quality system requirements
• Must be a “hands on” individual with a quality mind set for getting it right at first time and be a champion for continual improvement.
• Attention to detail, analytical and methodical approach to problem solving, excellent document control
• Capable of handling a diverse range of projects and products simultaneously
• Must have excellent I.T. skills to maintain various databases and present quality data in the form of departmental reports
• QA auditing experience
• Excellent oral, written and report writing skills to all levels
