TXM Recruit is working in partnership with an award-winning organisation on an exciting new project on the London Underground. They are looking for SPC Fire Alarm and Detection Engineer  to become part of an ever expanding and skilled team and to assist with the maintenance of  fire safety components.

Your duties will consist of controlling a team of engineers who are tasked with servicing and maintaining Fire detection, alarm and ancillary systems installed primarily on TFL premises. You will ensure that all tasks are carried out to comply with relevant standards. You will also ensure that all relevant documentation associated with the ‘site person in charge’ role is completed as required and that your team is working safely.

This position is night shift based, working around 10pm – 6am, Sunday to Thursday

Responsibilities included

  • Ensuring safe working of your team and compliance with all relevant HSEQ legislation.
  • Ensuring that all works are carried out in timely manner and comply with the relevant standards (BS5839pt 1 2013, BS5306 etc).
  • Collation and timely submission of all evidence of PPM – printouts/engineers sheets/test results.
  • Allocation of tasks to members of the PPM team.
  • Maintaining good relationships with the customer
  • Identifying potential remedial works during PPM visits and supplying accurate scopes of work to enable quote generation.
  • Identifying technical issues with the systems being worked on and carrying out corrective actions
  • Servicing Fire Alarms 
  • Working on Earth faults and data faults

Preferred Skills and Behaviours:
  • Good working knowledge of BS5839pt 1 2013
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and within a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Accurate / legible paperwork skills for reporting
  • Ideally hold City & Guilds or similar in electrical / electronic field
  • Hold a full UK Driving licence
