TXM Recruit are partnering with a specialist waste to energy company to appoint a new Plant Manager who will be responsible for energy optimisation and outputs, whilst leading a team of 9 (Maintenance Engineers and Operators).  

This is a great time to join the business and this site; after a period of significant investment and upgrades on the equipment & plant. The business wider business continues to grow and develop, having recently expanded its food waste recycling network through acquisition, they now have 15 sites that provide cost-effective, low carbon, food and organic waste management solutions.

Recycling over half a million tonnes of food waste each year their customers include supermarkets, the hospitality industry, food manufacturers and local authorities across the UK.

The Plant Manager will coordinate the whole site operation at the Hoddesdon plant taking responsibility for:

  • highest safety and environmental standards,
  • ensuring the site operates to maximise a cost effective and efficient energy output.
  • continuously improving safety, health, environmental, operational standards and systems, and managing control of change procedures.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: Circa £45k per annum, plus allowance, overtime and bonus. Salary is dependent on previous experience & qualifications

Benefits: 25 days holiday and 4% employer pension

Hours: The role is Monday to Friday, working 7-4 or 8-5 as a rule of thumb but there will involve some working weekends as and when required, call outs and remote monitoring of the AD Process.

Experience required:

We are looking for an experienced people manager, who possesses excellent process engineering skills; you will ideally also have mechanical or electrical engineer skills and qualifications.

Ideal industry backgrounds include: food production; chemicals; water treatment; and utilities.

Training will be provided to complete a WAMITAB certificate of technical competency and a NEBOSH general certificate if these are not already held. You must have a full driving licence.
