This role has a salary of £51,200pa (with shift allowance) rising to £53,948pa (with Shift allowance) after completing competencies, the role is working shift covering 24/7 including Nights.
The ideal individual will have had exposure to the Rolling stock industry however isn't necessary as out of industry will be considered such as RAF, REME, Navy, Army, FMCG, Offshore etc
Role responsibilities:
- Ensure that trains that go into service are safe to do so in accordance with the safety requirements laid down in the relevant technical documentation, and that work is carried out in accordance with local safety and quality procedures.
- Compliance with instructions as laid down in Maintenance/Overhaul Manuals (VMI/VOI), supporting repair/modification/check instructions, Depot Safety Rules and documented Fleet Quality System.
- Carry out routine overhaul, associated repairs and other maintenance/repair work, modifications and special checks on EMU’s and other rolling stock as instructed.
- Ensure all documentation is completed correctly and SPM/Team Leader is advised on completion of work.
- Served a recognised apprenticeship to minimum City and Guilds/ BTEC level with Mechanical / Electrical Level 3
- Extensive professional engineering experience in maintenance
- Knowledge and experience in reading electrical / mechanical schematics competently Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
Candidates will be required to pass a medical D&A prior to starting any work within the Rolling Stock industry.
