Role Responsibilities:
- Source, build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
- Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules for materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Review all vendors and suppliers on regular basis
- Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes within new projects and activities.
- Prepare reports and updates as and when required, and compile data relating to supplier performance (KPI)
- Monitor, ensure products are delivered/received on time as per due dates
- Support research for new components and suppliers where applicable
- Ensure that all purchases are from acceptable sources, in line with the company procedures & ISO standards.
- Support compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures and OJEU guidance during supplier negotiations and contracts award process.
- Assist in reducing the value and volume of stock held on site to an acceptable level through engagement with Operations and the Warehouse.
- Undertake Supplier Audits as required.
Role Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Buyer's role
- CIPS 3/4 is advantageous
- Engages interest and participation of others and has a collaborative approach to working together.
- Proactively contributes to the team, and committed to teams development
If you are CIPS qualified the client is able to offer £35,000 per annum. If you are not CIPS qualified please still click 'APPLY' as we are able to offer a slightly lower salary of £31,000 per annum.
