Operations Manager – Production
£60,000 + bonus & benefits

TXM Recruit are currently searching for an Operations Manager to join a renowned international FMCG brand at one of their largest and most pivotal sites- with its contribution to a large % of production volume and revenues within the UK and European business units. The site beneifts from consistent investment and is currently undergoing technology upgrades and expansion.
 
You will report into the Senior Operations Manager, having responsibility for 3 direct reports and a wider team of circa 50 individuals- managing across multiple high speed & high volume production and packaging lines.
 
Operations Manager Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for delivering high levels of GMP for the business unit.
  • Managing the following KPI’s; labour, QESH, output, machine availability/efficiency and stock.
  • Training and development of the team – looking at succession planning and talent for the future, creating training regimes for new and existing members of staff, organising training on new OEM equipment to ensure optimum efficiency.
  • Ensuring production schedules are met.
  • Continuous improvement exercises – identifying areas for improvement across production and packaging lines.
  • Fulfilling the maintenance plan to support optimum efficiency across lines.
  • Develop strategies to support continued increase in volumes, business growth and succession planning within the business unit.
  • Involvement in projects from an operational perspective – planning through commissioning, how the new equipment/product/machinery/lines will work when in operation.
  • Liaison with suppliers – conducting reviews and trailing of new products/equipment.
Experience/Qualifications Required:
  • Relevant Engineering qualification – apprenticeship, HND/HNC/NVQ/Degree.
  • Implemented lean methodologies in an FMCG environment.
  • People development – identifying training needs, talent gaps and succession planning.
  • Continuous improvement/lean methodology experience or qualification.
  • KPI management.
  • Supplier liaison.
  • Experienced working of CAPEX projects.
  • FMCG background – food, beverages, dairy, packaging, pharmaceutical.
