TXM Recruit are currently working with a business in the West Midlands to recruit a Production Manager with strong leadership skills and expeirenced in change management
The Role
· We now have a new and exciting opportunity for a Fleet Production Manager to join our team in Wednesbury to support the organisation in providing a safe and dependable tram service.
· The purpose of this role is to lead the Rolling Stock Maintenance Team in delivering a safe, compliant, efficient and economic maintenance service for the West Midlands Metro tram fleet.
· The right individual will have a key role in growing and developing the Rolling Stock maintenance team over the coming years, in line with the metro expansion program.
Key Responsibilities
· You will lead motivate, coach and develop the maintenance team in order to meet objectives.
· You will deliver, through the Maintenance Team Leaders, the maintenance plan, ensuring exam tasks are being completed on time and to the required technical and quality standards.
· You will ensure planned preventive and reactive tasks are coordinated and distributed efficiently within the team in order to maximise fleet availability.
· Ensure that all maintenance work is appropriately prioritised and has the appropriate labour, materials, equipment and resources identified.
What you’ll need:
· Experience in leading, managing and coaching a team.
· Experience in undertaking preventative and corrective maintenance on high value safety critical equipment.
· Experience in planning and delivery of preventative and corrective maintenance
· A recognised electrical, mechanical or general engineering apprenticeship and/or further or higher engineering qualification.
· Experience of leading others, and the ability to directly manage a team of maintenance team leaders.
· Outstanding safety awareness gained through working in a safety critical operations and maintenance environment.
· A Health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH or IOSH and a qualification in Continuous Improvement e.g. Kaizen, 5S, Lean or similar would be advantageous.
