£40,000-£48,512 + up to 7% pension, life assurance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

The company

With more than 3000 employees nationwide, our client is a global manufacturer of parts for the automotive industry. Due to increased workload, they are looking for an experienced Process Engineer with Capex experience to join their team in the Sunderland area.

 

You will be working within a small team of engineers and will be responsible for enabling the effective & timely response to customer quotations and development of new process concepts up to Process Design Drawing completion at the first off tool trial phase. You will review and understand external customer technical RFI/RFQ requirements and you will communicate those requirements to the global production engineering teams. The Process Engineer will work closely with plant engineering to optimise proposed RFQ response manufacturing process in line with existing plant layouts, you will Implement Make vs Buy and Make vs Make processes based on optimised capacity and investment and will work with plant engineering to understand improvement plans targeted on future capacity improvement and utilisation. 

 

The Process Engineer will understand benchmark costs for manufacturing processes and equipment and will manage ongoing Capex plans to prioritise height and timing of spend to maximise returns. You will also validate capacity and investment plans included in RFI/RFQ responses in line with required reply schedules. I am looking for someone with a Manufacturing / Production Engineering background, a proven track record of controlling process costs including understanding of appropriate financial KPIs. You will have working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and will have a HND / Degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent.
