TXM Recruit are looking to hire an experienced operations manager to lead our clients 3PL operation in Hexthorpe, Doncaster. Leaders in supply chain, they have 2 warehouses on-site, one main products warehouse and a secondary 3PL warehouse. This role is leading operations on the 3PL warehouse, so any experience in 3PL would sit very well for interested candidates.

The main aim of the role is to lead and manage an operational team consisting of 3 team leaders and 21 operatives, ensuring all customer requirements, safety policies, and objectives are achieved.

Focus is ensuring KPI’s/SLA’s are achieved. Driving CI and service excellence throughout the operation.

Below outlines some key duties the position is responsible for:

  • Responsible for finding improvements in operations/cost savings etc. volumes planning, Inventory Management etc.
  • Managing the operational team on a day to basis, responding to customer demands, responding to late deliveries etc.
  • Focus is on Operations Management and ensuring KPI’s/SLAs are achieved. Driving CI and service excellence throughout the operation. 
  • Work involved in managing the operational team varies day to day and requires initiative and judgement of the post holder. Difficult tasks will be handled as and when required with support as required. 
  • Shop floor environment as based in a small office within the warehouse. Regular travel not required as part of the role.

Essential Criteria - Experience in these areas is crucial for any applicants 

  • Experience in a management role within a warehouse environment
  • Experience in implementing safety policies and processes.
  • Record of having delivered quality, cost and delivery improvements through a structured change process.
  • Experience of utilising 5S, creative problem solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence customers and senior management.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Fluent presentation skills.
  • Flexible approach to tasks undertaken and working arrangements.
Desireable - Applicants with these qualities will generally be more successful
  • HSE qualification.
  • Experience in the rail sector.
  • Comfortable in analysing data, preferably Six Sigma green belt qualified.
  • Full UK driving licence.
