We have a key Rail client looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

 

As a Stores Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will have a salary of £34008 working a mix of early and late shifts. You will be given an allowance on top of your salary for these shift and any weekend work will be paid at an enhanced overtime rate.

 

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will oversee the maintenance and repair of all site facilities, plant, and equipment. The upkeep of all relevant documentation.

 

Duties of a Mechanical Maintenance Technician would include:

· Observe and always conform to Safe Working Practices and current Health and Safety Requirements to always include adherence to PPE requirements.

· Working at height (Overhead cranes) and confined space working (inside large) machines will occur from time to time and the role is best suited to industrial biased mechanical engineers.

· Working on high pressure hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as part of the maintenance team.

· Undertake PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance) tasks as allocated.

· Actively complete any Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Permits required before any work is started.

· Tasks completed must conform to the Quality Standards and Internal Quality Assurance Work Instructions.

· Maintain and promote a safe and tidy working environment in accordance with company and legislative requirements.

· To attend timeously for work, meetings, and courses.

· Accurately and efficiently carry out all aspects of mechanical maintenance tasks as directed by the business.

· Self-Inspect work prior to commissioning plan after installation or repair.

 

Requirements of a Mechanical Maintenance Technician would be:

· A minimum of City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering, or similar qualification and a proven record of practical experience within a medium to high volume manufacturing environment.

· Time-served / qualified candidates who are in a mechanical discipline would be preferred.

· Excellent team player with a sound understanding of planned maintenance routines and procedures. The ability to effectively analyse, record and interpret data.

· Ideally someone who has experience of maintaining and repairing CNC Machines
