Mechanical Drafter – Aberdeen
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Aberdeen
Our client, a leader in downhole tools and engineering solutions, is seeking a Mechanical Drafter to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with industry experts on a variety of technical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Drafting & Design: Create accurate and detailed drawings under the guidance of the Engineering Manager, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Documentation: Prepare quality control documents such as Engineering Check Sheets, Final Inspection Sheets, and Design & Development Plans.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with Procurement and Engineering teams to prepare manufacturing and assembly drawings using SolidWorks, ensuring seamless production flow.
  • Calculations & Standards: Conduct mechanical calculations and apply knowledge of industry standards (e.g., API, ASNT) to product designs.
  • Marketing Support: Provide graphical illustrations for tools and methods (TM) for client proposals and marketing needs.
Requirements:
  • Education: HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). Current enrollment will also be considered.
  • Experience: 2+ years in a similar role, ideally within downhole tools, completions, or intervention tools.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CADWORKS, MS Office, and familiarity with MS Project is a plus.
  • Standards Knowledge: Understanding of API manufacturing principles, particularly API 11-D1, and experience with QHSE/API Q1 standards.
