An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Materials Handler to join one of our key Engineering clients based in Norwich on a 6-month contract

 

As a Materials Handler you will be working day shifts Monday to Friday, 35 hours a week on an hourly rate of £14.03 an hour

 

As a Materials Handler you will require experience in the operation of a technical stores and stock control systems, customer orientation and ability to work with IT systems for controlling, purchasing, and tracking stock

 

As a Materials Handler your role will include various tasks such as:

· Receipt, stocking, and issue of material to staff; preparation of material by request for local depots as required

· Assist in identifying and maintaining optimum levels of stock. This will include using ERP, EAM software, liaising with suppliers, and providing feedback at daily meetings.

· Monitoring of the packaging and receipting of all material on goods inwards and outward, including warranty returns and recording of serial numbers of assets.

· Carry out storekeeping activities associated with correct stock handling procedures, such as:

  1. Stock counts
  2. Control of ‘shelf life’
  3. Stock rotation of material (e.g., new to back; old to front)
  4. Control of COSHH material
· Maintain stores and storage areas e.g., modification of stores, colour-coded designated floor zones and any other zone-controlled systems.

· Process outstation requests and repairable items as required to support delivery of fleet maintenance and ensure suitable support for outstation services.

· Delivery of required equipment to the appropriate location

 

Competencies required for a Materials Handler would be:

· Knowledge of material supply principles, procedures, and practices

· IT skills in Microsoft Office and other applications used for stock management

· Professional qualification in stores management and stock control

· Proven experience of operation with stock control and purchasing systems.
