A leading manufacturer of electronic components for the defence, aerospace and rail industries, looking for an Operations General Manager for their South Wales facility. As a profitable business employing circa 150 staff, the General Manager is required to help the business reach its full potential. There is a strong senior management team in place that with the right, strong leadership will help take the company to the next level.

There is an impressive Lean and Health & Safety culture in place although there are challenges in other areas of the business that the GM will tackle head on.

You will have full accountability for the business unit P&L and will have responsibility for delivering sustained growth, operational improvements and driving innovations. Customer engagement is a key part of this role and a proven track record in this area is essential.

You will have effective leadership qualities and interpersonal skills, understanding your team with a proven ability to maximise motivation and performance. You must be committed to excellence and combine strategic thinking with drive to achieve business results.

Ideally you will be from a defence, aerospace or rail background but skills and operational experience is more important. You will however be from a manufacturing background and used to dealing with complex products and customers.
