A vacancy for a Development Engineer has arisen in our Milton Keynes site. As part of the Development Department your main job role will be to improve quality, manufacturing efficiency and reduce production costs of containers. You will work on multiple, varied projects from getting involved with the design of containers and tools to installation and commissioning of new lines for new size / shaped containers.
You will be measured against material cost reduction which will be achieved through developing processes, setting specifications and designing tools.
Key responsibilities include:
" Participating in capital projects through production machine specifications
" Supporting plants for improved quality & efficiencies and reducing spoilage & operating costs through improved tooling and process designs
" Use tools such as Six Sigma for development and fault finding processes
" Participate in capital projects by assisting with specifications of production machines, toolroom equipment, preparing tooling designs and assisting with commissioning
" Developing and performing tests on modified container designs to evaluate performance before full line trial
To be considered you MUST have the following skills / experience:
" Degree in Mechanical Engineer (or equivalent)
" Six Sigma (Green Belt minimum)
" Tooling design and its relation to machines and production
" High speed manufacturing / packaging experience
" Working with packaging materials such as plastics, metal etc.
" Ability to read engineering diagrams created by design engineers
" Lean manufacturing techniques.
This role includes international travel of approximately 30%. In some instances, this figure will be lower but can be at short notice.
The role comes with a salary of £40,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience) as well as benefits including bonuses, pension, life assurance, private health insurance (after probation period)
