TXM Recruit are partnering with an international project engineering company who manage the design & installations of new production sites, as well as improving and upgrading existing plants.
They are now looking to add a new Construction Safety Supervisor to their team to support the growth in European projects with a pipeline of new builds for the next 4 years +. The position of Construction Safety Supervisor will lead on health & safety practices, site certifications and permits; supporting multiple sites within England and then moving to more international projects. You will be implementing and upgrading key health and safety processes, as well as training staff on improved compliance and safety culture.
Responsibilities of the Construction Safety Supervisor:
- You will be responsible for the planning & implementing safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the creation and implementation of a structured health and safety ownership and accountability program that clearly highlights and standardises the correct regulations & the culture within the project teams.
- Generate risk assessments, procedures and inspections on site.
- Managing certifications, permits and training for various equipment, rigging, working at heights or within confined spaces.
- You will have to support construction activities for both domestic sites and internationally sites with procedure development and training
- You will have to maintain comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations for both domestic and international sites, and customer specific safety requirements.
- Degree or equivalent within a construction, manufacturing or engineering discipline.
- 3 + years of leadership experience within health & safety and compliance
- Environmental experience desirable.
- Have a good knowledge of lean practices implemented into safety practices
- Need to have a broad technical and business knowledge and experience with industry.
- Very good knowledge of regulations and ISO standards for both general industry and construction including ISO 18001 /45001 and ISO 9001
- Being highly experienced in the organisation of documentation & report writing, is key.
- Understanding of auditing
