We are looking for a Construction Director that will oversee the solar PV project, based in Athens.

Please note this start date for the position is as soon as possible. 

If you have experience within construction management for the construction of utility scale solar plants on the EPC side, with a background within Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering field and a passion for solar PV, than this role is for you. 



Main Responsibilities:

• Takes full responsibility for the assignment and reports to the Project Director.

• To ensure on-time completion and compliance with the company's quality standards, works closely with the Project Director, site Engineers, design & engineering team, legal team, and finance team, as well as externally with subcontractors, equipment suppliers, and clients/developers.

• In collaboration with the Human Resources department, lead the recruitment efforts for each project site's workforce.

• With project teams, discusses, interprets, and evaluates construction drawings and method descriptions.

• Ensures that quality assurance and quality control processes are followed.

• Ensures that HSE procedures are adhered to.

• Examines the project's schedule for potential delays and dangers, as well as measures to manage such risks.

• With the help of the technical department, resolves day-to-day construction concerns.

• In collaboration with the technical department, defines and discusses the scope of subcontractors.

• Ensures that all necessary permissions are in place prior to the start of construction.

• Liaises with technical development to proactively tackle technical concerns from projects.

• With the help of the Technical Manager, serves as the primary point of communication between the sites and the technical department.

• Manages the allocation of construction resources amongst multiple projects.

• Assesses and supports in the selection of appropriate subcontractors.

• In collaboration with the Project Director, legal, and technical departments, prepares subcontractor contracts.

Requirements

• Proven track record of construction management in construction of utility – scale solar related projects

• Working knowledge of contracts (EPC & O&M)

• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office and MS Project

• Excellent use of the English language both spoken and written

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent planning and organizational skills with attention to detail

• Ability to meet deadlines with team spirit attitude

• Detailed understanding of engineering and construction issues and processes

• Ability to think analytically, critically assess requirements, and select best approach to meeting construction objectives
