TXM Recruit are looking for an experienced Commodity Manager to join a new exciting long term project for one of the UK's leading train manufacturing companies.

Your new role:

• You will be developing and agreeing the category plan for a portfolio of commodities
• You will be purely dealing and focusing on direct spend
• Setting sourcing strategies for new and upcoming contract opportunities
• You will be involved in the end to end process of contract drafting, from the initial negotiation stage to the award
• Supporting material and vendor set in ERP/MRP systems 
• You will act as an escalation point for any contract claim negotiation
• You must remain engaged with operational procurement teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of materials
• Conduct supplier performance reviews
• You will be required to travel to the various TMC's across the UK

Requirements:

• Commodity management experience 
• Experience of working within a manufacturing or maintenance environment
• Good working knowledge of SAP including PO, Material Master, PIR
• Good working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft packages
• Sound commercial acumen
• MCIPS Qualified or appropriate professional institute or relevant experience
