TXM Recruit is working in partnership with an award-winning organisation. They are expanding and are looking for Commercial Manager to join their team.

Your duties will consist of being the lead in delievery of a significant PFI service contract within the Energy and Technical Services Divison and support otehr contracts in the wider portfolio as required. You will provide contract commercial management and profit improvement, risk and opportunity management along with focus on compliance. In addition they may be required to support growth within on the existing contracts as well as new business development initiatives to extend the suite of contracts in the region. Holding collective responsibility with contract management team to improve operations and deliver against financial plans

Responsibilities/Accountability's/Deliverables

  • Identifying and driving risk and opportunity management
  • Improvement in financial performance of the contract through continues improvement
  • Management of variation/change control to capture revenue
  • Supporting the Commercial Director / Senior Commercial Manager in the satisfaction of contract and company objectives.
  • Taking the Commercial lead with clients directly to identify and resolve variations from the contract deliverables.
  • Participating in the contract extension bid governance processes including presenting to Sector Commitment Committee and UK Commitment Committee.
  • Negotiating, on an equitable basis, internally and externally to ensure that the business is not exposed to risk.
  • Leading in all dispute resolution activity in these contracts areas or having a thorough input into the dispute resolution activity.
  • Ensuring a contract review and governance framework is embedded on all contracts.
  • Dealing reactively in mitigation key risk areas as they arise and providing support to Finance and Operations to resolve in a timely manner
  • Working within the operating environment to ensure Code of Conduct is thoroughly understood, adhered to and promoted across the business to ensure safe, compliant and consistent working practices.
  • Behaving with integrity and demonstrating professional image at all times. To always do what is right.
  • To support the development and delivery of compelling commercial proposals to existing and new Clients to persuade them to extend current contracts and enter into new contracts including:
  • Leading governance within the bidding process contracts to ensure that the company’s requirements of the contract are being complied with.
  • To provide day to day commercial support to the account management teams 
  • Building Strong Relationships with senior clinet representatives 
Experience/About you

  • Suitable commercial experience
  • Educated to degree/ diploma level in either Law, Business, Surveying (Building/Quantity), or the Built Environment (FM, Land).
  • Understanding and practical application of base UK law applicable to Commercial (Construction Act etc).
  • Ideally a member or training to be member of a chartered institution.
  • Excellent communicator
  • Excellent financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation with accuracy
  • Skilled negotiator with proven experience in a commercial environment
  • Sound understanding of risk analysis/management
  • PC Literate with knowledge of MS applications e.g. Word, Excel
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of Business Assurance systems
  • Commerciality – leading the commercial aspects of all contract under remit.
  • Communicating – with senior members our organisation, supplier organisations and the customer’s organisation
  • Delivering – ensuring that the contacts deliver from a commercial (financial, risk, business continuity) perspective.
  • Developing – engendering a sense of commercial responsibility and commercial acumen within our operational delivery teams.
  • Finance – working alongside finance to understand financial performance and improvement over the life of the contracts.
  • Influencing – bringing a more effective commercial approach to our contracts
