We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced CAD CAM engineer to join our client based in Huntingdon who focus heavily in Aerospace and Automotive composite manufacturing.

Role - CAD CAM Engineer  

Location - Huntingdon

Permanent Salary - Dependent on experience

Job Purpose:

• Creating 5 axis CNC programs
• Scheduling workload on CNC machines
• Managing tooling suppliers and maintaining tooling stocks
• Creating clear and accurate instructions for operators
• Creating OMV programs for touch probe using Autodesk PowerInspect
• Manipulating CAD data to aid production of patterns and tooling
• Continuous development of departmental operations

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Creation of 5 axis toolpaths
• Validate all tool paths using Vericut software
• Produce detailed instructions for machine operators
• Responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the company’s CAM systems and procedures
• Design and manipulation of CAD data to aid production of tooling and patterns
• Design and development of machining fixtures
• A thorough understanding of engineering drawings and G, D & T
• Experienced in high speed machining techniques
• Managing tooling suppliers and maintaining tooling stock levels
• Scheduling workload on machines
• Creating blocking data for patternshop
• Creating standard operating procedures for CNC department
