Business Improvement Leader
£40,000-£50,000 + benefits
Do you want to work for a company who have over 70 years within the Aerospace, Defence and Nuclear Power Refuelling industries. The company’s expertise lies in the production of value added complex fabricated and machined assemblies.
The business improvement engineer will be part of the business improvement team and will be responsible for delivering the business short term and long-term improvement projects. You will need to be able to work in both reactive and pro-active situations to ensure efficient and effective decisions are made to meet business needs.
You will facilitate and drive change in a fast paced and “ever changing” and you will be expected to act as a key driver of change within the business, supporting management/cross functional decisions by communicating the changes to employees (and other stake holders such as customers/suppliers) and helping them to learn, understand, adjust and grow with the business’s Lean transformation. You will conduct regular reviews of the company’s lean performance with leadership teams across the organisation, providing expectations, performance planning, feedback, training, development and performance; defining future state requirements for operations and ensure the implementation of Lean strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed business and customer expectations. You will also develop infrastructure tools and supporting materials, including training to support the company’s lean initiatives, this can be through workshops and other training programs that foster the cross functional deployment of Lean Methodology.
To be successful in this role you will have proven problem-solving skills, you will be Six Sigma green belt trained and have a Lean manufacturing mindset. Minitab experience and Microsoft Access 2016 VBA programming capability is beneficial as well as the ability to implement change at all levels of an organisation. You will have experience of driving projects and requests to completion through other people, without having direct supervisory responsibility as well as strong change management and influencing skills with the ability to negotiate and communicate at different levels of an organisation.
