I am looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join a Formula 1 client based in Oxfordshire. The role will involve working closely with the Race, Control & Performance Engineers ensuring the chassis is built and set-up correctly and to an extremely high standard. Factory projects will also be assigned to help develop System Engineering tools and hardware and to promote improved performance and reliability. Key Responsibilities: Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments. Have an excellent understanding of Data Acquisition Systems and able to use System Monitor to set up all on car systems associated with the SECU. Use Atlas to set-up the car system to ensure boxes and sensors are operating correctly and within their limits prior to and during all sessions. Work closely with the Control and Performance Engineers ensuring the correct data sets are used. Monitor and resolve the daily Electrical issues as they arise on the chassis. Generate fault reports as required and proactively investigate issues on and off car working closely with the Reliability Engineer. Liaise with the FIA, FOM and other providers of Chassis tools and equipment to ensure all hardware and software are correctly managed and ready for use. Work closely with the electricians and wider car crew to ensure all electrical components are allocated as per the build specification and available in readiness for car builds. Using the component Lifing System to manage all electrical parts ensuring stocks levels are constantly monitored and all component transactions are carried out correctly maintaining complete component lifing and servicing integrity. Continuously monitor and help to improve on and off car installations, design standards and operational processes and procedures. Work closely with the Garage tyre technicians to ensure the TPMS sensors are correctly allocated and functioning prior to each session. Actively progress allocated Development and Reliability projects under the direction of the Head of Electronics. Play an active role in the garage set-up and pack-up of events. Follow all safety regulations in all venues. Assumes any responsibilities and duties delegated by the Head of Electronics or his designee. Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Strong communication skills, written and verbal. Strong technical background in racing car electrical and electronic systems. Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations. Quick decision making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way. Work well in a team environment with personnel at all levels. Assembly and Test Technician £25,000-£35,000 depending on experience Aylesbury A manufacture of high precision, high performance rocket engines & thrusters for the space industry are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in engineering to fulfil the role of Assembly and Test Technician. To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate experience in THREE of the following as a minimum; Experience of working in a clean room environment, assembly of small precision components accurately and in accordance with written procedures, knowledge of cleanliness and operational procedures related to build and test of precision products, in process inspection using a range of equipment including; high magnification binocular microscopes, bore scopes, particulate counters, the use of pressurised test equipment to critically and quantitatively assess the performance of assemblies and sub-assemblies, the ability to interact with and use electronic based data capture methods, precision build of mechanical products to demanding tolerances and procedures, basic electrical testing at device level, the ability to learn new techniques and skills or a natural ability to be accurate and precise in all activities. You will be degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline or HND as a minimum. Alternatively, you must be able to demonstrate relevant clean room experience.
