Coventry, United Kingdom Maintenance Engineer Coventry £30,000-34,000 FMCG supplier This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanical maintenance engineer to join the UK market leader in supply chain services for the FMCG and food retail markets. The company work with some of the biggest restaurant and food brands and are looking for an experienced maintenance engineer to join the team at their new distribution centre that will support a significant number of new customers and contracts. Maintenance Engineer responsibilities: · Provide specialist mechanical knowledge, to support the site manager on engineering works and plan as needed · Undertake planned maintenance and inspections, daily weekly and monthly · This will be varied maintenance work across the warehouse as a whole, conveyor systems that distribute orders, improving and repairing racking systems, dock levellers and more. · Day to day frontline fault finding and repair work · Assist with contractor control and management Qualifications & Experience required: · Mechanical – (C&G) Part 1 + 2 Mechanical or NVQ level 3 Mechanical City & Guilds or Level 3 Diploma in Engineering- Maintenance, Installation and Commissioning. · Conveyer systems and robotics would also be an advantage · Experience in planned Preventative Maintenance Systems · Previous experience working within production and warehouse environment · Certification or experience in Welding or Fabrication would be an advantage. Responsibilities include: Provide rapid technical assistance in the resolution of equipment and plant malfunctions, carry out fault-finding repairs and refurbishments as necessary. Develop and refine local operating procedures to maximise efficiency and minimise waste Train operators in the safe operation of equipment and promote up-skilling. Develop and maintain process and plant efficiency and utilisation measures to use as a tool for continuous improvement. Continuously strive to eliminate and reduce waste of any kind within the manufacturing process, scrap, re-work and consumables. Develop and implement planned maintenance of jigs, fixtures, plant and other equipment to minimise efficiency losses to production whilst carefully controlling costs. Assist in the integration of new plant and equipment into the production environment. Set and strive to improve housekeeping standards using the 5S approach. What you'll need? For this position we are looking for a Systems Engineer / Automation Engineer who has worked on the implementation, programming and installation of Controls Systems (PLC, HMI and SCADA) from start to finish, supporting: design, coding/programming, testing and modifications and commissioning. The Control Systems Engineer will be encouraged to have autonomy over your work, bring new ideas to the table and manage your diary. Systems Engineer responsibilities: Be part of installation projects across the full life cycle-from start to finish.
