Just GivingDay 6 started with lovely sunshine (yes sunshine!) and a relatively easy run up to the Scottish borders. To everyones’ surprise, within two hours we entered bonny Scotland and with clear blue skies and morale flying high we were all optimistic about the remaining 80+ miles.

Well, in true pacemaker fashion we were all given a right shock to the system with a constant head wind and road surfaces worse than those seen on the moon. Downhills felt like uphills and the constant rattling bikes brought all the nagging ailments to the surface. Believe it or not, although we are all highly tuned athletes with bodies to die for, 650+ miles takes it’s toll. For instance:

Simon has – lost the use of his left hand.
Severe sit bone issues
Damaged fetlock?

Gary has -    Damaged his fingers
Sore achillies
Increased delusional issues and tourettes!

Jez has -      Sit bone failure
Hamstring issues
Developed the capacity to dribble whilst talking!

Patrick has – An inconsistent tan on his left hand!!

With the day’s route starting at Armathwaite and taking us through Carlisle, Gretna, & Moffat, it was time for a dull, mind numbing run up to Kirkmuirhill, Strathaven and finally up to our hotel in Eaglesham where Tor was waiting to take over as support driver / masseur!!

Thank you Jamie for your superb support and motivational speeches at our fuel stops…………..the memorable one has to be……’you guys want the world on a stick! Just get on with it, see ya in 20 miles……..’

Tomorrow we dine in Onich.

  1. Hey Guys
Keep it up, you still have smiles on your faces. Brilliant. Great videos. Jamie’s interview technique was world class. Looking forward to the next blog update and video.
