Role - Project Engineer / Manager
Location - Milton Keynes
Contract Position - Up to 3 months initially with potential to roll on.
We are actively recruiting a HANDS ON Project Engineer / Manager for our clients composite business based in Milton Keynes. The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the full life cycle of the projects from order acknowledgement through to production readiness, ensuring that the projects achieve the agreed deliverables, on time and to cost. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile.
Success within a project management role will require flexibility, to adapt with changing environments and to secure constructive working relationships at all levels of the business. A high standard of general education, with the ability to have a technically credible dialog with the engineering and production teams is essential.
Our client manufactures high quality precision composite components and operates across a wide range of industry sectors including automotive, aerospace and motorsport. With proven capability in the whole manufacturing process from design to tooling right through to volume production, our customers range from the manufacturers of the world's best supercars to explorers of other planets.
" Ensure the projects are completed on time, to specification and to budget
" Prepare quotes with input from Engineering
" Ensure that projects are released into manufacture right first time, using the company New
Product Introduction process
" Ensure programme plans are feasible, realistic and profitable
" Manage project changes effectively, including cost and delivery variances
" Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the customer
" Review of margin performance and corrective action during Programme execution
" Right first time delivery of programmes to manufacture
" Maintain project KPI's
" Manage multiple projects consecutively
" Ad hoc responsibilities, if and when the business requires
" Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
" Relevant composites or manufacturing experience preferred.
" Understanding of planning and tracking projects through the use of Gantt charts and other associate tools and/or applications
" Professional experience of programme delivery within an automotive and/or aerospace industry
" Previous experience managing diverse working groups
" Possess a natural dynamic work ethic
" Demonstrate assertive, personable and motivational characteristics
" Proficient in MS Excel, Project, Word and PowerPoint. Plus ideally have experience of working with business ERP systems
