We have been appointed to recruit on behalf of a leading aerospace company and are looking to recruit a Lead Stress Engineer for their state-of-the-art facility in Wolverhampton.
As a lead engineer of the stress function, your day-to-day role will be extremely varied and involve; providing stress calculations and summaries, approving component and assembly drawings, compiling and reviewing test specifications, defining loading cycles and much more. You will also be involved in vibration and damage tolerance analysis, and failure investigations.
Stress analysis will be conducted on hydraulic actuators, cylinders, piston rods, control valves and manifolds. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for mentoring and coaching the other stress engineers.
What you'll need:
-Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
-Competency in traditional hand calculations and Mathcad.
-Knowledge of aerospace materials, additional experience in aircraft actuation would be highly desirable.
