A fantastic opportunity for an experienced composite Manufacturing/Production Engineer to join a prestigious composite manufacturing company who focus heavily in the Motorsport and Automotive industry.
Role - Manufacturing / Production Engineer
Location - Milton Keynes
Contract - Initially 1-2 months
Rate - Competitive hourly rate
The ideal candidate will have a broad experience within the composite industry. Experience with lean manufacturing methodology is needed to support and promote efficient production areas and processes.
The company operates across a wide range of industry sectors including automotive, aerospace and motorsport, manufacturing high quality precision composite components to short timescales and to varied volumes. With proven capability in the whole manufacturing process from design of the component and production of the tooling to volume manufacture with CNC machine trimming and finishing the components. Customers range from the manufacturers of the world's best supercars to explorers of other planets.
" To offer support, assistance and advice when establishing new production areas.
" Consider how high levels of repeatability within every manufacturing process will be achieved and develop solutions to execute.
" Liaise with buyers, engineers, internal production staff and external suppliers.
" Create and maintain manufacturing information for production programs.
" Monitor quality and cost within manufacturing areas.
" Understanding of CAE in manufacturing including CAD (Catia), PLM and FEA to ensure the best engineering solutions.
" Ensure information is aligned to continuous improvement methodology.
" Perform PFMEA activities in conjunction with production engineering.
" Generate, utilise and maintain process documentation to support lean manufacturing methodologies.
" Utilise lean manufacturing methods in manufacturing system designs.
" Support Ad hoc projects as specified by business needs.
" Support smooth day to day running of manufacturing programs.
" Professional interface with other departments, working in a collaborative way to develop shared ideas and ownership.
" Understand and implement good ergonomics in manufacture system design.
" Plan, co-ordinate activities and meet deadlines.
" Ensure facilities and processes satisfy current health and safety legislation requirements.
" Experienced in the coordination of individuals and teams ensuring manufacturing objectives are achieved.
" HND or equivalent in Engineering discipline or experience in equivalent role.
" Previous Production/Manufacturing engineering experience essential.
" A background in Composite medium/high volume manufacturing is desirable.
" Lean Manufacturing Green Belt is an advantage.
